Official Launch

On behalf of everyone involved in the initiative, I'm extremely proud to announce the launch of the AI Foundry -- an internet portal for open source projects. While it has already become a focus point for the initial member project, we intend it to become a hub for all developers interested in this technology.

Everyone else involved is going to be busy for a while, so it made sense to launch immediately and get the rest of the community involved, rather than delaying any more. While all the basic features are present and working fine, make sure to let us know if you have any additional feature requests. You can posting in this forum or to the mailing list, as you see fit.

Great idea Alex. Let's hope it gets some good support.

Fingers Crossed

Yeah, indeed that's the key. Most major sourceforge projects are already behind this foundry, simply because SF.net were not willing to put one up!

Does that make it official? I'm not sure, but we'll all do our best for it to work out... I'm expecting interest from many other projects as soon as they find out about the initiative.

I don't quite understand

Im really kinda new to programming im still young (21) but i did do some programming in high school and the cash flow doesn't allow me to buy languages but i have insomnia have for 3 years now and have already done some pretty interesting things late at night and AI has always interested me and ive started to create some things in my mind relating to AI programming the whole thing i gotta figure it out now is how to transfer it from my mind to code. I mean I have figured out ways and algorithms from what base i know to program an AI to experience pain and fear and emotion its kinda all cluttered together i just have to sit down one day and break it all down piece by piece but I don't think i have the knowledge to do that right now with my ignorance in programming but one thing i would like to know if you have any ideas that could help me out as in what languages are best any good books to read and such. And ill be glad to sit down and chat with you about this once i start learning how to transfer it from thought to code.

Founding the foundry

I'm not sure what the AI foundry is about, but I wish it luck. It would be nice to have diaries for individual projects similar to what you find on robots.net

It would also be a good idea to have some sort of central code library (napster style) where you could search for already written code which performs a particular function. Basically just make it as ridiculously easy as possible for folks to swap code with eachother.
