For The Newbies

Hi all. I just wanted to start this thread as a repository for us newbies, who are interested in getting started in AI, but don't know where to begin.

Here, folks can list courses and books that can help the budding new AI programmer/student. Please list all sites, classes, HOWTO books and any other information you think might be helpful to us newbies.

Of course as a stepping stone newbies should check out Sourceforge.net for programming projects that could help hone your programming skills.

That said: Is there anyone with information about beginner classes (either online or locally) on Artificial Intelligence?

CiteSeer (www.citeseer.com) is an excellent technical resource, which allows searching of technical papers and reports.
